Tour Outsider: PGA Championship

The US PGA Tour is heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma to play the PGA Championship, the final major of the year.

Let's look at the Golf CLi and see who the top 15 players are for the tournament ranked by the CLi figure.

Rank Player CLi
1 Tiger Woods 3.70
2 Ernie Els 9.30
3 Tim Clark 9.90
4 Jim Furyk 15.90
5 Vijay Singh 17.10
6 Joe Ogilvie 17.40
7 Steve Flesch 18.90
8 Sergio Garcia 21.40
9 Steve Elkington 21.80
10 K.J. Choi 22.80
11 Shaun Micheel 24.50
12 Kenny Perry 26.30
13 Mike Weir 26.30
14 Phil Mickelson 28.90
15 Steve Stricker 29.30

Will go with the top 3 in the list: Woods, Els, and Tim Clark. Will pass on Furyk since he pulled out of the Bridgestone Invitational last week citing a bad back. Because of that, just don't know what he will do this week.

For my fourth pick, will go with Singh. He is always a good pick at the PGA Championship as he likes this tournament no matter which course it is being played on.

Then to round out the top 5, will pick Garcia with the hopes of him breaking through at a major this go around. He was soo close at the British Open last month.

So the Tour Outsider picks for the PGA Championship are:

Rank Player CLi
1 Tiger Woods 3.70
2 Ernie Els 9.30
3 Tim Clark 9.90
4 Vijay Singh 17.10
5 Sergio Garcia 21.40

The Tour Insider's (Dave Shedloski) picks are:

This week we have 1 player in common: Woods.
